We woke up in the RV and had breakfast.  Jodi made it for us AND cleaned it up.  I got the first good night of uninterrupted sleep in the RV.  It was pretty quiet outside most of the band was probably still up in their rooms.  Glenda had left the drivers side of the RV for me to decorate.  I painted pictures of the dogs and the names of the tour stops dotted on the windows with a plan that we would cross off each tour stop as we finished the show, we would have to cross Taos off retroactively.   I painted stick figures of the band on the middle window and asked Mikey to paint something special on the last window.  He made a cool mountain scene with a cloud blowing.  Tato  was the first to come out to see the windows and told me his portrait  looked like the monopoly man.

We decided to go see Colorado National Monument, or as we referred to it the mini Grand Canyon.  We had the best day up there, we had the park to ourselves.   We spent the early afternoon taking pictures and having lunch in the RV.  We laughed and talked about news from the tour about friends that weren’t on the road with us, puppies and the new music soon to be released.  We shared some of Glenda’s great salsa and Jodi’s salads.  Jim hooked me up with some fine Mexican Coke that’s Coca Cola imported from Mexico that is sweetened with real sugar cane, he made sure we had plenty for the trip.   That day was the best lunch I came up with a delicious sandwich on pita bread, Bobs Big Boy Blue Cheese, provolone turkey and avocado.  It was so nice to be with them so comfortable I was worried Zack and I would make it too crowded for them and we would be in the way but we seemed to fit right in.  We took another ro und of the GOLDEN GOAT and topped it off with some Durban Poison in the Big Bong before we made our way back to Grand Junction to get ready for the big show.

When we got back it was time to check in to our room, which for as much fun as we had the night before I knew Jodi was hurting from being stuck in the kiddies bed it would be good for her to have her bed back.  Zack went down for a nap and I took a shower to get ready for the show.  The theater was about a block away so we would just meet at the theater and decide where to have dinner.

We settled on a Japanese restaurant for dinner, it was right across the street from the venue.  This  show in Grand Junction would be my favorite show on the tour.   The theater wasn’t sold out so there was plenty of room up front, just the way I like it.  I stood by myself up front for most of the show and the energy was great.  I was surprised there weren’t more kids there but I guess it was Spring Break and school was out.  Zack came down front, he had been sitting with Glenda and Jodi .  We spent the  last few songs standing close to Corey.   I turned around to face the crowd and had a moment with Glenda as we danced together, from her seat and me from my place at the stage.  We pointed at each other as Luke belted out Please to meet you, bet you guessed my name…..

We spent the night in our room and Jim and family spent the night in the parking lot.   Aspen was the next up, we were going to get an early start the show was in Snowmass Village at 3 pm.  The plan was to meet back at the hotel in the morning where the band stayed and convoy with the bus to Aspen.
